A compassionate, energetic, and patient-focused orthodontist, Dr. Niyati Patel-Parekh brought her fun and outgoing personality to our practice in 2013 after receiving her Master’s degree in Dental Science from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), where she was also appointed the title of Chief resident. Dr. Patel-Parekh also holds a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree, graduating at the top of her class in 2010. During her schooling at UMDNJ, she was granted the Alpha Omega National Fraternity Award of excellence for her scholastic achievement and also received the American Association of Orthodontics Award, by the faculty, for aptitude and showing her exceptional interest in the specialty of orthodontics.
Dr. Patel-Parekh became certified by the American Board of Orthodontics in December 2013, and holds the diplomate status. Three of her cases were selected for case display at the Annual 2014 Orthodontics meeting.
Dr. Patel-Parekh brings an exceptional level of patient care, leadership, and strong communication skills to our practice. Besides marveling at the transformation our patients undergo during their treatment, she loves building strong relationships with our patients and their families, while at the same time maintaining a high level of professionalism. Dr. Patel-Parekh has extensive experience in working with children and adults from diverse backgrounds and abilities, and has wide range of proficiency in many cutting-edge treatment modalities such as temporary anchorage devices, self-ligating bracket systems, soft tissue lasers, and multiple functional appliances. She has also been certified to treat our patients with Invisalign® clear aligners and Incognito™ lingual braces.
Because she is passionate about making the treatment more efficient and comfortable for patients and their families, Dr. Patel-Parekh enjoys staying on top of the latest treatment orthodontia has to offer. She is also a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics, Great Lakes Association of Orthodontics, and the Michigan Association of Orthodontics.
In her spare time, Dr. Patel-Parekh resides in Troy and enjoys spending time with her childhood sweetheart, Ravish Parekh, whom she married in 2006. She loves to spend her time listening to music, singing, learning to play the guitar, exploring new places, playing volleyball, and spending time with her family and friends.
